About PennStory Paranormal

Welcome to PennStory Paranormal

Who I Am

I’m Kimberly Chaffee, BA-English, PLCGS, a historian, genealogist, and paranormal researcher based in Pennsylvania. My work stands at the intersection of haunted history and archival research; uncovering the stories of people and places whose past still echoes in the present.

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor of Arts in English – Chaminade University of Honolulu

  • Advanced Level Genealogical Studies, American Records Certification – International Institute of Genealogical Studies (PLCGS designation)

With these foundations, I’ve developed expertise in archival research, land and deed studies, and genealogical casework, skills that now inform my paranormal investigations and historical storytelling.

Paranormal & Historical Research

I grew up in a haunted house — an experience that ignited a lifelong curiosity about what lingers between the past and the present. Today, I blend traditional genealogical research with paranormal fieldwork, documenting haunted case files across Western Pennsylvania and beyond.

Through PennStory Paranormal, I:

  • Investigate historic homes, taverns, and properties with paranormal activity.

  • Research the families, deeds, and land records that reveal the lives behind the legends.

  • Partner with teams like Steel City Ghost Hunters to document case studies.

  • Share findings through articles, case files, and community talks.

Community & Outreach

Beyond research, I am also:

  • Writer and speaker on Pennsylvania’s haunted and historical past.

  • Former Site Coordinator of the Depreciation Lands Museum, a Colonial-era living history site in Western Pennsylvania. My time there deepened my appreciation for community heritage.

  • Advocate for responsible storytelling that respects both the living and the dead.

Why I Do This

For me, haunted history isn’t just about the unexplained; it’s about remembering. Each investigation is a way to honor the people who lived, worked, and sometimes died in the places we explore. Whether through genealogy, haunted case studies, or historical education, my mission is to preserve stories that refuse to be forgotten.
