I’m Kimberly Chaffee, a professional genealogist with a BA in English, a PLCGS certification, and a lifelong passion for uncovering the stories hidden within old homes, forgotten records, and historic places.

Growing up in a house where unexplained events were part of everyday life sparked a lifelong curiosity about the connection between history and reported paranormal activity. That curiosity led me to combine my experience in genealogy, land records, and historical research with on-site investigations of locations where people report unusual experiences.

At PennStory Paranormal, every investigation begins in the archives. I trace property ownership through deeds, reconstruct family histories using census records and newspapers, and explore the historical context behind each location before stepping into the field. My goal is to separate folklore from documented history while preserving the stories that have become part of a place’s legacy.

Whether researching a century-old farmhouse, an abandoned school, or a historic inn, I believe every location has a story worth telling—and history is always the first place to look.
